Online Doctors Visits

+ Frequecy Asked Questions

What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine is a method of treating patients using the internet and telephone. This can be done via real-time video visits or calls, secure email or remotely monitoring patient vitals. We are currently using the real-time video or call options for our Online Doctors Visits.

Do I have to go to the clinic before I can have an Online Doctors Visit?

No, once your complaint is suited to a telemedicine visit, your first visit with us can be done via our Online Doctors Visits platform.

Is telemedicine technology easy to use?

Our platform for online doctors visits is designed to be user friendly to both patients and physicians.

Is telemedicine private and secure?

Yes, it is, but only when done using an encrypted platform specifically designed for the purpose. Our platform has been specifically designed for telemedicine and is safe.

Are telemedicine visits covered by insurance?

Several insurance companies cover telemedicine visits. The extent to which they are covered varies by company.

How do I get my insurance form?

Your completed insurance form will be emailed to you by one of our Virtual Assistants after your visit.

How do I pay?

We currently accept payment credit card via phone.

When Should I use telemedicine?

Telemedicine is best for visits that do not require a physical exam. Here are some examples:

  • Follow-up visits
  • Minor urgent care
  • Reviewing lab results
  • Medication adjustments
  • Managing chronic diseases like diabetes/hypertension
If your complaint requires an in-clinic consult, our physician will advise you to follow-up with a clinic.

What about those who are underage or elderly?

Parents/guardians can provide medical information on behalf of their children. Caregivers or family members can also do this for the elderly patients. In such cases it will be important to indicate to the doctor who the patient is.

Can I get a prescription after a telemedicine visit?

Yes you can. We can email/fax a copy to your pharmacy of choice. For those pharmacies that still require a hard copy of the prescription, one can be collected from one of our clinics.

How can the doctor know what is wrong if I don’t see them in person?

Even though the doctor doesn’t see you in person, you will be providing them with the history of your medical complaint. This history provides 90% of the information required for a clinical diagnosis even when being seen in person!
If your complaint requires further evaluation via a physical exam or lab tests, our physician will provide the referral you need to ensure you get complete care.

What are the benefits of Telemedicine?

  • No in-clinic wait times to be seen by the doctor
  • Reduced cost to see a physician
  • Comfort and privacy of your own space
  • Less time spent driving or away from family and work
  • Private, convenient access to a physician
  • Avoiding contact with potentially contagious patients
